Rashad Iskandrni<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong>14 September 2026:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.germany.travel\/en\/home.html\">German National Tourist Office GCC (GNTO GCC)<\/a> has today announced that the number of overnight stays by GCC visitors to Germany has grown steadily since 2022 to 1.2 million in 2025, an increase of 9%, while GCC travellers spent a total of \u20ac3 billion, over 30% more than the average expenditure of all overseas visitors to Germany in 2025.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">The announcement was made during a press conference on the opening day of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026, taking place from 14\u201317 September 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong>Yamina Sofo<\/strong>, Director of the Marketing &amp; Sales Office \u2013 GNTO GCC, an affiliate of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB), commented, \u201cWe have now witnessed steady growth in visitor numbers from the GCC countries as well as a considerable increase in travel expenditure from 2022 to 2025.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">\u201cHowever, after a promising start in January 2026, when overnight stays increased by 4.7% to 68,455, the remainder of the first half of the year saw some moderation in overnight stays from the GCC. This reflects the exceptional disruption to air traffic across the Gulf during the period, which understandably affected passenger flows and direct travel to Germany. Even so, the figures continue to underline Germany\u2019s enduring appeal among GCC travellers and the resilience of demand from the region.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">\u201cThis year at ATM, we are here to showcase Germany\u2019s year-round appeal, support our local partners and highlight the breadth of experiences available to GCC travellers. The new facility, which can accommodate up to six million additional passengers, will serve as the primary home at Munich Airport for airlines operating from the region and their passengers. In 2025, approximately 1.6 million passengers travelled on routes between Munich and the Gulf, accounting for 18% of all long-haul traffic at the airport.
